Amber and Rachel's Experience From England
Our salsa experience all started as a happy accident.
We went to the local sports centre one evening  and saw a small flyer that caught my eye Salsa! I looked at Rachel, Rachel looked at me, and it was decided there and then, we were definitely up for that.
Two weeks later we arrived for our first lesson. There were a few people there and luckily there were enough men to partner nearly every women. We had a great time! By the end of the first lesson we were so happy to have found something worth doing that we couldn't wait for the following week!
The next week came round quickly and we practically skipped to the class!  Neither Rachel nor I had danced before and it was a whole different experience to dancing in a nightclub or dancing a slow dance with our partners. When another week went by, both of us were already hooked on salsa, it was all we could talk about and Thursday night could not come round quickly enough for me. Most of the first lesson was spent laughing at getting the steps wrong and then laughing when we got them right!
.
Private lessons were the absolute best, we got more practice, picked up the moves quicker and became even better friends with Sujan and Sarah. We had the time of our lives and when the end came as it always does we were desperately sad.

Sujan and Sarah had become very dear to us, they had made a difference to our lives and taught us something we will never forget or let go of. Salsa has become a part of us.

My words to anyone who reads this - try salsa. If you can learn from Sujan and Sarah - even better. They will change your lives and you will feel wonderful dancing their steps to their great selection of music. It really is an experience you do not want to miss out on. Plus, they are the nicest people you are ever likely to meet. They will be missed dearly by all of us in Folkestone, England.

Hello my name is Shawntel.  One day I was talking to a friend and she mentioned how she had found this website that had Salsa parties once a month.  She wanted to go but didn't want to go alone. Although I had taken a 4 week introductory class on Latin dancing, I had never learned anything more than the basic steps of each; salsa, meringue, cha cha, and mambo. When we arrived at our first Friday party, we were greeted with big smiles from everyone and Sarah asked us to join in.
We joined in with Sujan for the free class that he gives before the party begins; we warmed up with some basic.  As the party  went on, I was AMAZED at how smooth Sujan glided across the floor!!!  No matter how uncoordinated the person looked (me included) when he danced with them they look as if they had been dancing for years.  I had never seen a teacher dance like that before!!!!  All  I could think was I wanna dance like that!!!!  Right then I was hooked!! I talked my best friend to the next party and then the beginners class. It was life changing!!!  We couldn't wait for the next week's class to begin.  All we talked about was remembering 1,2,3 & 5,6,7! I never realized there was soo much to learn.
Now salsa is an important part of my life.  If I could do it everyday I would.  It is a great way to stay healthy, it challenges my mind as well as my body, and it is a great way to relieve stress.  I spend so much time laughing at myself I forget all about my problems.  Not only that, but I have made so many new friends that I know I wouldn't have met otherwise.  Its like one big family!! Sarah and Sujan have opened up there hearts to us and  made us all feel at home. We have improved so much, that we now help with some of their beginners classes. Everyone should try it; afterall what do you have to loose? If you can walk you can salsa.  It doesn't have to be perfect, we're just here to have fun.  .
Hey I’m Josh, but I’m mainly known as Duck. I came to a salsa party for the first time in August 2009 and well that night was fairly interesting to say the least. I had actually tried salsa dancing about 6 years before when I was a sophomore in high school but it was real basic. My buddies convinced me to come because he told me he danced with some cute girls, so I figured I would try it. I got there and met Sujan and Sarah. Looking back now I kind of feel bad for Sarah because she had no clue she was gonna be trying to teach a country boy like me how to do some latin dances. Luckily Sarah is a good teacher because dancing, at least latin dancing was not quite my specialty. The girls who had to dance with me during the lesson were as nice as they could be because I struggled a bit that night. I messed up a lot that night but nobody got mad which I couldn’t believe because I knew how bad I was at that point. I enjoyed dancing so much that I decided to come back and I even went to a lesson on a Tuesday night in Clinton. I got hooked on it and I’ve been coming since. Three months later I’m now the Salsa Redneck. I still have the occasional mess ups here and there but I catch on a lot quicker now and I feel like I improve every time I get on the dance floor. So there is hope out there for anyone who believes they can’t dance just remember Sujan and Sarah took a redneck and made him into the Salsa Redneck.
